Organize doula on-call work and compare your availability

A practical workflow for reviewing due dates, comparing on-call windows, recording availability and preparing for support in Levvi Doulas.

Review appointments and on-call windows together

An empty calendar slot does not tell the whole story of your availability. Before accepting a client, compare scheduled appointments, on-call windows and periods when you are unavailable. This helps make the agreement with each family clearer.

A due date helps with planning; it does not determine when a birth will happen. The Levvi Doulas radar displays proximity from week 37 until the birth is recorded. That is a product display rule, not a clinical prediction.

Compare a new due date with current commitments

Use the due-date simulation to see overlap with clients you already support. Compare the result with your actual availability, travel and other commitments. The tool presents the scenario; the decision to accept the client remains yours.

For example, check the simulated window while discussing a new package. If it overlaps with other clients, review what you can commit to before preparing the agreement. No overlap on the screen is not a guarantee of an available schedule.

Record blocked dates and prepare your equipment

Keep availability, holidays and blocked dates in the calendar. The week view covers timed appointments; the on-call view offers another planning perspective. Update both when your routine changes.

Review each client’s readiness checklist and your equipment inventory. Record loans and returns so you do not rely on something currently with another family. Organize contacts and documents before you need them.

During and after support

During a birth, the app separates total support time, presence records and contractions. Add timestamped events and record the birth to keep a continuous history. These records do not generate diagnoses or automatic recommendations.

Afterwards, review the summary and plan the next postpartum contact. For places with unreliable connectivity, check which information is already loaded on the device. New submissions and synchronization require internet access.

Before your next appointment

  • Review existing due dates and commitments
  • Simulate the new due date before agreeing to support
  • Check availability, holidays and blocked dates
  • Review contacts, readiness and equipment
